Joseph Koo is an associate in the Los Angeles office, handling both transaction and litigation matters, as well as general counseling. His practice spans corporate governance, commercial real estate, mergers and acquisitions, contractual disputes, commercial finance, and franchise matters. As businesses and their practices evolve alongside legal and regulatory changes, Mr. Koo advises clients on compliance and risk mitigation, with a particular focus on developing and implementing comprehensive privacy frameworks.

Mr. Koo has extensive experience in building privacy frameworks for clients, including data mapping, drafting internal privacy policies and external notices, and monitoring and providing training to employees. He also assists in preparing and responding to privacy incidents and providing counsel for compliance under the CCPA/CPRA.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Koo worked as a Deputy District Attorney at the San Bernardino County’s District Attorney’s Office, where he conducted multiple jury trials and litigated on various matters, including evidentiary and constitutional rights issues. During his tenure, he prepared and filed numerous substantive motions, including appellate matters. As an Associate County Counsel at Los Angeles Office of the County Counsel, he further developed his skills by conducting more than one hundred trials and motion hearings.

Mr. Koo is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with extensive experience in drafting, analyzing, and auditing financial statements and advising clients on internal accounting and quality control matters. He has assisted clients in multiple commercial and residential real estate transactions.

Mr. Koo is admitted to practice law in the State of California and the United States District Court, Central District of California.
