Jae Jin Lee (“Jae”) practices in the area of intellectual property law with an emphasis in patent prosecution, validity and infringement opinions, and licensing. Jae’s technical background includes a focus on artificial intelligence, wireless communications, consumer electronics, clean energy, nanotechnology, medical devices, biotechnology, semiconductor devices and processing, metallurgy, materials science, energy systems, and optical displays.

Prior to joining LHDK&W, Jae practiced as an intellectual property attorney for a prominent national law firm, where he supported clients of varying sizes across a diverse range of technologies. His intellectual property law experience includes managing global and domestic patent portfolios, trademark prosecution and protection, conducting due diligence, and counseling clients on issues ranging from licensing agreements to litigation.

Prior to law school, Jae worked as a patent agent trainee at a boutique intellectual property law firm and as a technical consultant at a multinational Japanese technology and industrial company in the field of data science and smart manufacturing. During his time at graduate school, Jae collaborated with a large display manufacturer in South Korea and conducted research on the thermal degradation of organic light-emitting diodes.

In addition to publishing in academic journals, Jae invented, patented, and sold a unique configuration of organic light-emitting diodes used in flexible displays. Jae continues to leverage his experience as an inventor to support clients in various aspects of patent law.

Outside of his patent practice, Jae is actively involved in the legal community and is currently an active member in the Orange County Korean American Bar Association (OCKABA).

Jae played soccer semi-professionally and was a varsity athlete during his university days.

Jae is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and is registered as a Limited Recognition practitioner to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Jae is also admitted to practice law in the Province of Ontario in Canada.
