Scott Monson represents foreign and domestic clients in commercial, products liability, consumer law, and complex litigation. His clients are involved in litigation throughout the United States, including California and the Pacific coast, Texas and adjacent states, Georgia, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida and others. He has extensive experience with motor vehicle defect claims, trucks and buses, industrial and heavy equipment, chemical, toxic tort and HazMat claims, food contamination and food borne illness, and transportation litigation. His clients have hired Mr. Monson as trial counsel and also as coordinating counsel on a national or regional basis. He is also frequently hired to give advice and consultation on a variety of regulatory, business and commercial issues.
Mr. Monson represents product manufacturers in catastrophic accident cases involving wrongful death, quadriplegia, paraplegia, burns, dismemberment, and brain injury. His clientele includes domestic and foreign motor vehicle manufacturers who hire him in lawsuits involving seat belts, airbags, roof strength, crashworthiness, rollover, handling and stability, and fire. He also handles litigation for chemical and food additive producers, medical device manufacturers, and consumer appliance makers. Aside from his litigation work, Mr. Monson also consults regarding risk avoidance strategies, risk management procedures, labeling, product warnings and manuals.
Mr. Monson is also hired by businesses and individuals to represent their interests in commercial disputes involving contracts, negotiable instruments, real estate and escrow, insurance, corporate and partnership law, and intellectual property. He also represents clients in consumer law matters involving the Song-Beverly Act, lemon law claims, consumer warranties, unfair competition, Business and Professions Code section 17200, the Consumer Legal Remedies Act, the Automobile Sales Finance Act, the Consumer Protection Act, consumer credit, and consumer privacy protection.
Mr. Monson is a graduate of the University of Southern California and Loyola Law School. He is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of California. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, and Society of Automotive Engineers.
